The documentary opens with a photograph from 1989 -primary school children in front of their school at a village in Hakkâri, the southeast of Turkey. 23 years later, İrfan, one of the kids in the photograph, travels back to that village. Irfan´s journey back takes us on another journey in time from 1989 until today with 10 of those students. The story begins with the childhood years, when the children first encounter with the state and the Turkish language at school, have their names changed by the Turkish school teacher, when the village guard system was first introduced along with a "state of emergency"... This film focuses on the stories of children of the 90s at any school in the predominantly Kurdish-populated areas whose dream of a peaceful world devoid of war and clashes is as unimaginable as jumping over the rainbow.
The cast and crew will be introducing the film on 11 APRIL THURSDAY, PERA, 19.00
