After her village is burnt down and family decimated, Alicia flees to her uncle´s hut by a lake in the Andes. Traumatizing war memories still invade her mind like a ceaseless storm. There, on a swampy and murky beach, she will try to settle down until her fears and the threat of war resurface again. Premiered at the Directors´ Fortnight in Cannes, La Sirga, as described by director Vega is a poetic tale about "a geographic location unknown to Colombians and the world," and its people maintaining their traditions to maintain a clean relation with the land.
