A group of guests at an upper-class dinner party find themselves unable to leave. This is the starting point for what is probably Luis Buñuel´s most controversial movie. Examining questions of barbarism, togetherness, and human behaviour, The Exterminating Angel shows us the most disturbing aspects of a micro-society in rapid decay. Shot in Mexico at the high point of Francisco Franco´s regime and banned in Spain, the movie quickly achieved canonical status around the world.
