Tell Me is a film about a tattoo tradition practiced in south eastern Anatolia for centuries, but now on the brink of extinction, and the memories and witness accounts of the last few people who try to keep this art form alive. The traditional tattoo art of south eastern Anatolia is closely related to the history, geography and ethnic structure of Upper Mesopotamia. The art of tattoo is a complementary part of the region’s cultural life. The people of the south east not only portray a different look with their world and life styles, but also with the tattoos they paint on their bodies. They communicate hundreds of years of accumulated wisdom through the stories they tell, their laments, and grief.
