Mediha Didem Türemen’s solo exhibition Myths is taking place within the frame of the centenary celebrations of Ingmar Bergman’s birth. The photographic work Türemen produced as part of her academic process and in parallel to Bergman’s The Seventh Seal, focus on today originating from the reflections of the film’s mood. Nature calling “I am here, for a thousand years,” at an indefinite time and an indefinite place, is compelled to change by human beings–replying with untimely storms, fog, sun, full moon, threatening and creating new legends. The Myths exhibition, indicates that the fear in The Seventh Seal corresponds to another fear of contemporary humans, words remain the same for ages just like our problems. Noting “With respect to Bergman,” Myths is realised with the cooperation of The Bergman Foundation, Adahan Istanbul, and Mixer Gallery.
