The jury members to evaluate the films in the National Competition for the 38th Istanbul Film Festival to be held between 5-16 April have been announced by the Istanbul Foundation For Culture and Arts (İKSV). Director, writer, and scriptwriter Ümit Ünal, who has received numerous awards both from major national and international festivals, will be heading the 38th Istanbul Film Festival National Competition Jury. The other members of the National Competition Jury are actress Derya Alabora, actor Alican Yücesoy, cinematographer Andreas Sinanos, and author and scriptwriter Gaye Boralıoğlu.
National Competition Awards
At the National Competition, awards will be granted in 9 categories including Golden Tulip for Best Film, Best Director, Special Jury Prize, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematographer, Best Editing, and Best Music. At the National Competition the winner of the Golden Tulip Best Film will receive 150.000 TL, the winner of the Special Jury Prize in memory of Onat Kutlar will receive 50.000 TL, the Best Actor and Best Actress will be given 10.000 TL each. Anadolu Efes will present a 50.000 TL prize to the recipient of the Best Director Award.
From this year on, Anadolu Efes takes over the theme sponsorship for the Turkish Cinema section that comprises National Competition, National Documentary Competition and National Short Film Competition.

30 Years in Theme Sponsorship of the Turkish Cinema
The Turkish Cinema section of the Istanbul Film Festival, featuring films most of which are making their Turkey and World Premieres, will be held once again with the contributions of Anadolu Efes after a two-year hiatus. This year the Anadolu Efes and İKSV collaboration will be further strengthened with the Theme Sponsorship of the Turkish Cinema section. At the 38th Istanbul Film Festival, the films in the Turkish Cinema section will be presented to the viewers under National Competition, National Documentary Competition and National Short Film Competition titles. Anadolu Efes will be presenting 5.000 TL to the Best Short Film in the National Short Film Competition, and 30.000 TL as the Meetings on the Bridge– Work in Progress prize.
