While continuing her undergraduate studies in English Language and Literature at Boğaziçi University, she started acting in TV series, short films, and theatre plays. Her first feature film Egg (Semih Kaplanoğlu, 2007) had its world premiere in the Directors' Fortnight section of the Cannes Film Festival and won numerous awards at many film festivals, including the Golden Tulip in Istanbul, Sarajevo, Valdivia, Antalya, Ankara, and Antalya. She starred in Milk (Semih Kaplanoğlu, 2008), which premiered at the Venice Film Festival, Bulgaria's Oscar nominee Eastern Plays (2009), which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival Directors' Fortnight, and Love in Another Language, which brought her many awards. Other films she has starred in include A Beautiful Life (Alejandro Chomski), The Rebound (Bart Freundlich), Twice Born (Sergio Castellitto, 2012) starring Penelope Cruz and Emile Hirsch, the Italian series Ragion di Stato (Marco Pontecorvo, 2015), and Ailecek Şaşkınız (2018), the 3rd most watched film of the year in Türkiye. She received the Best Actress Award at the Ankara Film Festival for Saf (Ali Vatansever, 2018). She starred in Passed by Censor (Serhat Karaaslan, 2019), Iguana Tokyo (Kaan Müjdeci, 2022), which premiered at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival, and Confidante (Çağla Zencirci and Guillaume Giovanetti, 2025), which had its world premiere at the Berlinale Panorama section. She also took part in many TV series such as Muhteşem Yüzyıl, Şahmaran, Asaf, Vatanım Sensin, Kördüğüm, Senden Başka.
