20th Meetings on the Bridge Work In Progress Platform and Short Film Workshop selection announced

The 20th Meetings on the Bridge, supported by Anadolu Efes as the main sponsor, will feature Work in Progress Platform and Short Film Workshop from 15 to 17 April this year.

Filmmakers participating in Meetings on the Bridge will take the first steps towards future co-productions, collaborations and knowledge exchange following their group work in the workshops where they will develop projects together. Feature-length fiction and documentary projects from Türkiye that have completed shooting and are in post-production stage will present their work and hold one-on-one meetings with international industry professionals as part of the Work in Progress platform. The Meetings on the Bridge aims to support the completion of the post-production processes for the selected films in the Work in Progress programme and to facilitate their entry into international festival, distribution, and marketing.

The selected projects in the Short Film Workshop will receive training in script development, production strategy, pitching techniques, and sales and festival strategies. Participants will make their first international presentation through Meetings on the Bridge and hold one-on-one meetings with industry professionals.

This year, 42 projects applied to the Work In Progress platform. The selection committee, comprising producer and founding partner of Bir Film Ersan Çongar; Georgian director, screenwriter, and producer George Ovashvili; M2 Film Lab founder and producer, and director Selin Vatansever Tezcan; and artistic director of Doku-Fest, Veton Nurkollari, evaluated the applications and selected eight projects for the platform.

Of the eight projects, six are distinguished as debut films.

This year, 84 projects applied for the Short Film Workshop selection. The Meetings on the Bridge selection committee, comprising producer Alara Hamamcıoğlu; Vila do Conde Film Festival and Portuguese Short Film Agency director Miguel Dias; director Onur Yağız; and Lithuanian Short Film Agency director Rimantė Daugėlaitė, evaluated the applications and selected four projects.
