This year’s European Film Awards will be streamed live from Reykjavik: Saturday, 10 December, 19.45 CET (21.45 Turkish time) and Istanbul Film Festival will be among an international network of streaming and broadcasting partners hosting the awards ceremony live on its website. Celebrating the nominees and winners of the various categories of the 2022 European Film Awards given by the European Film Academy, which now unites 4,400 European film professionals. The live streaming will begin at 22.15 (Turkish time) and will last approximately three hours.

The academy's CEO is Matthijs Wouter Knol, who was on the jury of the 2019 Istanbul Film Festival's International Competition, and the President is Agnieszka Holland.

The ceremony honours the achievements of European cinema in the main categories (Film, Documentary, Animation, Comedy, Short, Discovery, Director, Actress, Actor, Screenwriter) and welcomes special guests and representatives of the European Film Academy, such as the current President Agnieszka Holland and board members Mike Downey, Nina Hoss, Baltasar Kormakur and many more.

This year’s award European Lifetime Achievement will be presented to Margarethe von Trotta; Palestinian director Elia Suleiman will be awarded the European Achievement in World Cinema award.
