1. Dates
The 44th Istanbul Film Festival, organised by Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts as a specialised competitive event, will take place 11-22 April 2025.
2. Official Competitions
44th Istanbul Film Festival's program comprises the below official competitions:
a) Golden Tulip Competition
b) Short Film Competition
c) New Visions
Films to be presented within these competitive sections will be evaluated by juries determined by the Festival Directorate.
3. Awards
The official festival awards to be bestowed upon the films selected by the relevant juries are listed below:
Golden Tulip Competition
- – Golden Tulip (given to the best film)
- – Kariyo & Ababay Special Jury Prize/li>
- – Best Director Award
- – Best Screenplay Award
- – Best Actress Award, Best Actor Award
Short Film Competition
- – Best Film
New Visions
- – Seyfi Teoman Award (given to the best film)
- – Best Cinematography
- – Best Editing
- – Best Art Direction
- – Best Original Music
a) Golden Tulip Competition
- –Golden Tulip
The Golden Tulip Award is supported with a monetary prize of 30,000 Euros given by Eczacıbaşı Topluluğu. This award is given to the producer of the selected film.
- – Kariyo & Ababay Special Jury Prize
Kariyo & Ababay Special Jury Prize is supported with a monetary prize of 10,000 Euros, given by Kariyo & Ababay Foundation, to be distributed ½ share to the producer and ½ share to the director of the film.
Golden Tulip and Kariyo & Ababay Special Jury Prize cannot be given to the same film.
- – Best Director Award
Best Director Award is supported with a monetary prize of 10,000 Euros given by Anadolu. This award is given to the director of the selected film.
- – Best Screenplay Award
This award is given to the scriptwriter of the selected film.
- – Best Actress Award, Best Actor Award
JIn principal, the Jury evaluates leading parts for these awards.
These awards are given to single films, and cannot be shared.
b) New Visions
- – Seyfi Teoman Prize
Bestowed upon the production deemed best film from within this section, this award aims at honouring the memory of producer-director Seyfi Teoman. Given to the director of the selected film, this award is supported with a monetary prize of 250,000 TRL.
The films presented within this section are also evaluated by the jury for the following prizes: Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Art Direction, Best Original Music.
These awards are given to single films, and cannot be shared.
c) Short Film Competition
- - Best Film
Given to the director of the selected film, this award is supported with a monetary prize of 2,500 Euros given by Anadolu Efes.
This award is given to a single film, and cannot be shared.
4. Parallel Awards
Films presented within the official selection of the 44th Istanbul Film Festival can be evaluated by independent juries determined by film associations and/or institutions. Relayed to the Festival Directorate before the disclosing of the festival programme, these juries can bestow parallel awards to selected films. These parallel awards will also be announced by the festival.
