Premiering at Locarno Film Festival, Dog tells the story of a man who decides to become a dog when all else fails in his life. Jacques, played by Vincent Macaigne of News from Planet Mars, opts for the lowest societal rank he can think of when he loses everything he holds dear. A plucky pet store owner adopts Jacques as a dog and starts training him. Adapted to film by director Samuel Benchétrit from his own novel, Dog humorously portrays an anonymous society devoid of character, soul, and humanity through a man who chooses to become “invisible.”
This film was a Meetings on the Bridge participant.
