Diagnosed by doctors for having two months left to live, forest guard Igor visits a shaman healer as a last-ditch effort. The shaman fails to help Igor, but a story she tells about Zhamba the drake who attempts to cheat death by camouflaging himself gives him an idea. Inspired by the story and ready to face the consequences, Igor comes up with a plan that surprises everyone. The director duo of Natasha Merkulova and Aleksey Chupov, inspired by a folk tale tells us a thought-provoking, gender-bending story that takes place in the Siberian taiga, casting a probing look at societal prejudices about sexuality and death by digging deep into the characters’ psyche.

This film was a Meetings on the Bridge participant.
