High school teachers in a small town, Martin and his four close friends take up an obscure theory that suggests that humans are born with an alcohol deficiency in their blood. Adopting the basics of the theory, they make up for this deficiency to overcome the dullness, and reconnect with their inner creativity. However, as they readapt and update the rules of their “academic experiment,” they begin to force their own borders as well as society’s. With Mads Mikkelsen’s brilliant central performance, Another Round tackles alcoholism tendency along with modern world’s anxieties, while maintaining a bitter humour. Thomas Vinterberg’s Cannes 2020 labelled latest film was included in San Sebastian and Toronto film festival programmes.
