İsmet is a retired Turkish soldier, who had been on duty at the border as a Commander of the Coast Guard until he has recently retired. Now as a civilian, he struggles to communicate with his family and people around him. Estranged, his only son has left for the USA, and now, his wife wants to join him, too. After coincidentally becoming neighbours with two Syrian refugees (Omar and Mariye) at his house near the Turkish-Greek border and the humane experience he has to go through, he now has to confront his prejudices and political view. Professional actors Taj Sher Yakub (Omar) and Hala Alsayasneh (Mariye) starring in this movie are two Syrian refugees who live in Turkey under temporary immigration status.
