Outstanding with its innovative narration, the story of Censor follows Enid, a proud editor on the censor board responsible for cutting out the horrific gore out of videos in the slasher infested 1980s. After a gruesome murder is committed in the exact same method depicted in a film she has passed, Enid is forced to delve into her own horrid past that seems to surface in submitted films. “Surreal and stunning, albeit oddly uncomfortable,” as described on heavyhorror.com, Censor was screened at both Sundance and Berlin film festivals. One of the most elaborate depictions of trauma on screen with 1980s aesthetics, Censor is the first feature film of Prano Bailey-Bond, who admits her obsession with David Lynch, Harmony Korine, Quentin Tarantino, and later Douglas Sirk.
This film was a Meetings on the Bridge participant.
