Konstantina Kotzamani is blessed with a gift: she can put together an oneiric world extending to various epochs and geographies even when depicting a limited space-time. Electric Swan is set entirely in one building. At first glance, a strict dichotomy is laid up between the wealthy upper floor occupants and the janitor living downstairs. The building acts as a metaphor for class division. Yet, moments when dream and reality become entwined and scenes winking at surrealism soon upheave the film’s reach far beyond just that of a plain allegory. This is a perfect starting point to get to know a genuinely unique director’s work.
This film will be screened together with Konstantina Kotzamani’s 5 other short films. Total duration 145 min.
This film was a Meetings on the Bridge participant.
