Kotzamani’s most internationally recognised work, Limbo manages in 30 minutes to convey an atmosphere and profundity often achieved through feature films. Limbo is set in an outworldly seaside town, and focuses on a group of children’s symbolic actions. Everything in this film seems to conjure up ancient, archaic emotions, resulting in an uncanny feeling overall. Its very plot takes time to reveal itself. Limbo was selected in Cannes’s 2016 Critics’ Week.
