2020 Atlanta Best Narrative Feature
A favourite at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival, The Killing of Two Lovers is a very low budget indie psychodrama especially praised for the powerful performance of Clayne Crawford (Convergence, Spectral, and Lethal Weapon the series.) Also one of the producers, Crawford plays David, who is separated from Nikki. They are just a few doors from each other, living in small town, Utah, with four children. He is hot-headed, jealous, and weak, and every day, struggles more to grapple with the new circumstances. Director Robert Machoian tackles small town claustrophobia, toxic masculinity, and ambiguity masterfully in his debut feature that employs a minimalist cinematography, effective sound design, and a never diminishing tense atmosphere. The couple’s children in the film are the real life children of Machoian.
This film was a Meetings on the Bridge participant.
