The latest Peter Strickland film is an extremely stylistic, gory comedy full of weird but glamorous characters, colour, indigestion, electronic music and sound akin to his thriller Berberian Sound Studio. At an institute devoted to culinary and alimentary performance, a collective that researches sounds of various foods finds themselves embroiled in power struggles, artistic vendettas, and gastrointestinal disorders. Premiering at the 2022 Berlin Film Festival’s Encounterssection, Flux Gourmet stars Asa Butterfield from Sex Education, and Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Game of Thrones).
Some scenes of violent/sexual content might disturb some viewers.
