Departing from the sole man in A Fistful of Dollars, Clint Eastwood is accompanied by the iconic Western face Lee Van Cleef in the lead. The film tells about the incidents that take place when Manco, a bounty hunter, joins forces with Colonel Mortimer to hunt down the ruthless gang leader El Indio––one for vengeance, the other for money. The context in brief appears on the screen at the opening on a blood-red title card: 'Where life had no value, death, sometimes, had its price. That is why the bounty killers appeared.' The five main duel scenes that last minutes aestheticize violence with the positioning of the camera, close-up faces, and suspenseful score that abruptly intensifies and ends.
This film is screened with the generous support of the Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Istanbul.
This film was a Meetings on the Bridge participant.
