Austrian director Feigelfeld's debut film Hagazussa presents a dark, poetic image of the witch. Hagazussa or hagzissa is an Old High German word for a witch and the origin of the English word 'hag.' The film takes place in a remote mountain village in the Alps in the 15th-century, and follows Albrun, a goat-herder outcast by her fellow townspeople, who finds herself in an uneasy friendship with a local villager. Feigelfeld makes use of the rich Alpine heritage of the witch and the perchta in German paganism.

This film is screened with the generous support of the Österreichisches Kulturforum Istanbul.

This film was a Meetings on the Bridge participant.
