A twisted fairy tale cross a dark comedy, Samuel’s Travels follows its titular protagonist Samuel as he travels to Eastern Europe to look for the father he’s never met. When he is lost on the edges of a mythical forest and accidentally hits a piglet with his car, he ends up enslaved at the owner’s farm. In a twist of fate, it turns out that the farmer's daughter is infatuated with him and that he can communicate with the pigs in the farm. 'It is a story about the false and deceptive perception of events and people we meet during our lifetime. We go through ordeals in order to understand a simple truth, that if we want to be loved we must care for each other,' says theatre and opera director Aik Karapetian for his fourth feature film.
This film was a Meetings on the Bridge participant.
