Men trapped in an otherworldly, sad limbo; a surreal, retro-futurist world of illogical reality... Premiering at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival within the International Competition, Silence 6-9 is a mysterious fantasy film that tells a love story embraced by secrets. The film opens with a man and a woman, Aris and Anna, who meet near dawn in a dream-like coastal town. He is to start a job here to record the voices of the disappeared inhabitants of the town. As Aris tries to adapt to the bizarre rituals of the town, they fall in love. Starring Angeliki Papoulia and Christos Passalis, who previously worked together in Dogtooth and The Miracle of the Sargasso Sea, the melancholic Silence 6-9 is thedirectorial debut of actor Passalis, and the latest breakthrough of the Greek Weird Wave.
