The Eternal Daughter, the most recent film by Joana Hogg who achieved great success with the extraordinary family dramas The Souvenir, The Souvenir: Part II, and Archipelago, had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival. Executive produced by Martin Scorsese, the film stars Tilda Swinton as a film director and her mother, both of whom lodge at an old hotel where they confront memories and hidden truths. Included in the US National Board of Review’s Top 10 Independent Films list, The Eternal Daughter is an extraordinary gothic ghost story that depicts how we in retrospect try to understand our own soul in a world surrounded by the unknown and mysteries.
