Angie and Pat are a couple living in Hong Kong who have been together for over four decades. After Pat’s unexpected death, Angie fears for her future, and finds herself at the mercy of her extended family as she struggles to retain both her dignity and the home that they shared for over thirty years. ‘All Shall Be Well is a story about the aftermath when a partner in a long-time committed relationship suddenly passes away without leaving a will,’ says director Yeung, ‘Our film questions what the meaning of “family” in the modern context is. Do blood relations automatically have more rights than a life partner?’
