Hazal is 17 and lives in Berlin. Her biggest wish: to be given a chance. For her 18th birthday she wants to escape the everyday grind and party with her friends. But a fatal incident changes everything. Hazal is forced to flee away to Istanbul –a city and a country that she is not familiar with at all. Adapted to screen from the novel Ellbogen by Fatma Aydemir, who tackles the impact of migration in her works, by Berlin-born Director Aslı Özarslan, Elbow had its world premiere at the Generation K14plus section in February at the Berlinale.
