Australian siblings Cameron and Colin Cairnes’ most recent film brings a fresh and evil breath to the found footage horror genre. The charismatic host of the 1970s talk show Night Owls, Jack Delroy, is filming a Halloween special to boost flagging ratings. The occult-focused episode is broadcast live as Delroy interviews a parapsychologist and the subject of her recent book, a young teenager who was the sole survivor of a Satanic cult’s mass suicide. Naturally, things soon grow horribly wrong under a demonic presence at the studio. Rapidly paced, scary, and utterly freaky, Late Night with the Devil had its world premiere at the SXSW Film Festival and was praised by the king of horror, Stephen King, who tweeted that the film was ‘absolutely brilliant. I couldn’t take my eyes off it.’
