Mathieu lives in Paris, Alice in a small seaside resort in Western France. He is a famous actor, about to turn fifty. She is a piano teacher in her forties. They were in love fifteen years ago, then separated. Time has passed. They each went their ways and slowly healed. When Mathieu goes to try to overcome his melancholia in a thermal spa, he stumbles upon Alice. Is it all over now or is a new beginning possible? Charming audiences with multi-layered romantic films, Stéphane Brizé says, ‘I wanted to linger on that moment when we ruminate on choices never made, or made badly, encounters we missed or misused, doors we never opened, meetings we missed, moments in life when we decided to take one road instead of another.’ Raising haunting, secret questions we all ask, Out of Season premiered at Venice Film Festival.

This film is screened with the kind contribution of Institut Français.

This film was a Meetings on the Bridge participant.
