The final part of the ’Sex, Love, Dreams’ trilogy, which premiered at Berlin in February, Dreams follows Johanne as she falls head over heels in love with her teacher, experiencing her first intense crush. Johanne’s intimate writings about her first love initially ignite turmoil in her family. The writings’ literary qualities are so overwhelming to prompt Johanne’s mother and grandmother to re-examine their realities and dreams. Employing a more candid, intimate visual style Dreams presents a rich, three-generational female perspective on love, relationships, sexuality, and self-discovery.
