Opening Film
Premiered at 2025 Berlinale at a Special Gala, Köln 75 tells the true story behind Keith Jarrett’s The Köln Concert from 1975. The event almost failed to happen ––before a formidable German teenager, the 17-year-old Vera Brandes, breaks every boundary to realise her dream and bring Keith Jarrett to Cologne. Keith Jarrett’s resulting live solo double album The Köln Concert is the best-selling solo album in jazz history and the best-selling piano album. The film comes as a tribute to the 50th anniversary of the concert.
