The second feature from Iraq-born Austrian filmmaker Kurdwin Ayub that follows Sonne is a highly energetic film, ’a real punch in the face’ that constantly plays with audience expectations. Moon follows former martial artist Sarah, who has reached the end of her competitive career. She leaves her small town in Austria to temporarily train three sisters from a super wealthy and sort of shady family in Jordan. What sounds initially like a dream job soon becomes unsettling: the young women are cut off from the outside world and under constant surveillance. Sport doesn’t seem to interest them. So why has Sarah been hired?
