Simon of the Mountain is a heart-warming coming-of-age drama about its eponymous main character, Simon, a young man adrift in life. Seeking a new path, Simon stumbles upon a group of disabled teenagers on a pilgrimage to a windswept mountainside. Despite the initial awkwardness, Simon is surprised to find acceptance and friendship, and together, they navigate a world not built for them. Paying homage to Luis Buñuel’s 1965 film Simon of the Desert, Federico Luis’s feature film debut tells a poignant story about finding your place in the world.
