Gabriel Mascaro’s quasi-dystopian fable takes us on a poetic journey through the Amazon, where freedom and resilience collide. The Brazilian government has created a system of sending anyone over 80 to purpose-built colonies for ‘their wellbeing’. Teresa who is 77-year-old lives in an industrialized town on the Amazon and is surprised when the age threshold is reduced to 75 and she receives an official order. She refuses to accept this imposed fate and embarks on a clandestine journey down the rivers and tributaries of the Amazon. Brazilian filmmaker Gabriel Mascaro’s earlier films Divine Love and Neon Bull were screened at previous editions of the festival.

* In accordance with Article 7 of the Law No. 5224 amended on 18.01.2019, cinema films that have not been reviewed and classified can only be screened in festivals, special screenings and similar cultural and artistic events with an 18+ age restriction.
