Ordinary people are on the verge of a nervous breakdown in this tragicomedy that unfolds on the brink of revolution. On December 20th, 1989, the streets of Romania are alive with demonstrations – as New Year’s shows glorify Ceauşescu who is about to collapse together with his communist regime. Seemingly disconnected lives intersect in unexpected ways: an aspiring actress, two young men who are ready to flee, a woman whose entire life is literally about to collapse, and a little boy who just sent a letter to Santa. The debut feature of acclaimed Romanian scriptwriter Bogdan Mureşanu witnesses an historical event through the eyes of ordinary people who don’t yet know that they are about to experience an extraordinary moment.
