The closing film of the Rotterdam Film Festival is a playful, romantic murder mystery directly influenced by Alfred Hitchcock and that unfurls like a Hitchcock quiz. The film follows Colette and François, an ordinary couple that transforms into an extraordinary detective duo. Colette, a film professor specializing in Hitchcock's work, suspects her new neighbour across the street of having murdered his wife. Her husband, François, a writer of somewhat old-fashioned historical crime novels, is initially sceptical of Colette's obsession with this alleged crime. However, he finds himself drawn into this outlandish investigation, and as the clues accumulate and the mystery deepens. So, was there really a murder on the third floor? Is it reality or an occupational hazard?
This film was a Meetings on the Bridge participant.
