When Siham passed away, Namir didn’t realize that she was gone forever. In a child’s mind, mothers are immortal... To keep her memory alive, Namir delved into his family history across Egypt and France. Mirroring the cinema of the giant of Egyptian cinema, Youssef Chahine, a story of exile, and above all, of love, begins to unfold. Soulful, touching and subtly funny, Life After Siham premiered within the ACID sidebar at Cannes. Namir Andel Messeeh’s debut The Virgin, The Copts and Me was screened at the festival in 2012.
This film was a Meetings on the Bridge participant.
