The latest from Cesc Gay is a romantic comedy that suggests that it is never too late to fall in love. The film follows the eponymous Eva, a woman in her late 40s, who has been married for more than twenty years, and has two teenage children. During a business trip to Rome, she realises that she wants to fall in love again before it’s ‘too late.’ She leaves her husband for a man she has not met yet, and back in Barcelona, she embarks on a new life, single and open to the game of seduction and romance. My Friend Eva, which premiered at San Sebastián, is the latest film from Cesc Gay, the director of Krámpack / Nico and Dani, Truman, and Historias para no contar / Stories Not to Be Told, all of which were screened at the earlier editions of the festival.
This film was a Meetings on the Bridge participant.
