2026 Berlin Audience Award–Panorama, CICAE Art Cinema Award–Panorama

Prosecution follows young prosecutor Seyo Kim, who sets out to confront far-right violence in eastern Germany, but after surviving a racist attack herself, she defies her superiors. She sets out to investigate her crime alone, uncovering links to a wider extremist network and exposing how the justice system can minimalise, turn a blind eye – and even defend – such crimes. Directed by Iranian–German Faraz Shariat, Prosecution is a courtroom drama with lots of legal terms but engrossing like a political spy thriller with a star heroine.

This film is screened with the support of Goethe-Institut Istanbul and Kino 2026.
