Humid summer day vibes enclose the characters of Sunfish as we witness their lives change remarkably, and then we move on. Lives intertwine around Green Lake near Michigan as a girl learns to sail, a boy fights for first chair in an orchestra, two young sisters find companionship at the bed-and-breakfast they run, and a fisherman and a young woman are after the catch of their lives. Sierra Falconer’s perceptive, warm debut feature immerses us in the rhythms of life on Green Lake ––each chapter introduces new lives and relationships capturing the quiet beauty of human connection. Executive produced by Joanna Hogg, and listed among Indiewire’s 25 great indie movies of 2025, Sunfish had its world Premiere at Sundance.
This film was a Meetings on the Bridge participant.
