The Short Film Workshop was first held in 2017 as part of Meetings on the Bridge with the support of the Istanbul Development Agency.

The workshop is designed for emerging young filmmakers working on their short films. Its main objectives are to support short film production within Türkiye’s cinema industry, encourage effective collaboration between directors and producers among young filmmakers, and contribute to the production of high-quality short films.

Writers, directors, and producers of selected short film projects participate in the workshop, where they develop their projects through collaboration with experienced professionals from the film industry. The workshop, conducted in a group setting, involves project teams working on screenplays with guidance from director and producer mentors. Additionally, sessions led by professionals from the feature film industry prepare participants for professional film production processes. These sessions not only allow filmmakers to delve into the unique aspects of their projects but also provide opportunities to build connections within the film industry and gain insights into its expectations.
